Q: What does BoringAccounting actually do?
A: We fix messy, unreliable books and give you numbers you can trust. Clear costs, clear margins, clear picture of how the business is really performing.
Q: Who is this for?
A: Trade and home-service owner-operators whose businesses are busy but unclear financially. If you don’t fully trust your numbers, this is for you.
Q: What’s included in the 30-Day Book Clean-Up?
A: Full review and clean-up of your books
→ Correct categorisation of revenue and costs
→ Clear margins and cost visibility
→ Clean reports you can actually understand
→ A simple summary of what’s working and what isn’t
→ No long-term contracts. One fixed job.
Q: How long does it take?
A: 30 days (for 12 months data) from the point we get access to your systems.
Q: Do you replace my accountant or bookkeeper?
A: No. We clean things up and make the numbers clear. You can then hand clean books back to your accountant or bookkeeper.
Q: Is this bookkeeping or ongoing accounting?
A: No. This is a one-off clean-up and clarity reset — not a monthly service.
Q: What if my books are already in decent shape?
A: Then the clean-up may not be necessary. In that case, the Revenue Health Check may be a better fit.
Q: What is the Revenue Health Check?
A: It’s an optional add-on that looks for:
→ missed revenue
→cost leaks
→ low-margin jobs
→ wasted spend
→ repeat income opportunities
It’s insight-only, no implementation.
Q: Does the Revenue Health Check involve changes or extra work?
A: No. We identify and quantify issues and opportunities, but you decide what to act on.
Q: What if you don’t find anything meaningful in the Revenue Health Check?
A: If we don’t identify opportunities equal to at least the value of the fee, we’ll refund the cost of the Health Check.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: 30-Day Book Clean-Up: £2,995
→ Revenue Health Check (optional add-on): £999
Fixed pricing. No surprises.
Q: What do you need from me?
A: Access to your accounting software and basic business information. We keep disruption to a minimum.
Q: Is this suitable for very small businesses?
A: This works best for established trade businesses with regular work and turnover. If you’re very early-stage, it may be too soon.
Q: Is this tax or HMRC advice?
A: No. We focus on clarity, costs, margins, and revenue visibility, not tax planning.
Q: What’s the outcome I should expect?
A: Confidence in your numbers.
→ Clarity on profit.
→ Visibility on leaks.
→ And better decisions going forward.
